PHP / Laravel Dev (Long-term hire)

This is a long-term remote PHP job. We are looking for 2-3 candidate, and performing a 2 week paid test, then we will take you on long-term. I am looking for someone with experience working with dev teams of 3-5 people. Enjoys coding, but also the writing out specs, and doing thinking tasks. Responsibilities • Build and maintain patient-facing web applications in PHP and Laravel, including landing pages, quiz flows, checkout experiences, and patient dashboards • Maintain attribution system across multiple services for tracking and conversions • Rapidly spin up A/B test variants across the conversion funnel to support ongoing experimentation • Integrate directly with third-party APIs including Stripe, telehealth platforms, and communication tools • Design and manage database schemas, migrations, and queries in MySQL or PostgreSQL • Develop admin panels and internal tooling to support operations, fulfillment, and customer service teams • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to translate growth ideas into working features quickly Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience writing PHP, with solid vanilla PHP fundamentals including object-oriented programming, error handling, and security best practices • Strong hands-on Laravel experience including Eloquent ORM, migrations, queues, middleware, routing, and Blade templating • Proficiency with MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization • Experience building and consuming REST APIs • Self-directed with strong communication skills. You flag blockers early, ask good questions, and ship without hand-holding Additional Assets • Direct Stripe API integration or subscription billing experience • Experience with A/B testing or experimentation platforms • Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced scaling environment • Working with server rendered systems instead of full front-end • Interested in htmx, alipinejs, jquery, unpoly and similar light front end libraries Job Type: Contract-to-Hire (2-week paid trial with conversion to full-time)
