Senior Laravel Developer Needed – Custom Safari Supplier Pricing Engine About Us We are a luxury African safari company looking for an experienced Laravel developer to build a custom supplier pricing engine for our business. This application will initially function as a standalone module but is being developed with future integration into our existing Laravel CRM in mind. Clean architecture, maintainable code, and thoughtful database design are extremely important. Our goal is to create a long-term solution that allows our team to efficiently manage supplier pricing and instantly calculate accommodation costs for custom safari itineraries. Project Overview Unlike a typical hotel reservation system, every safari lodge has its own pricing structure. Each supplier may have: • Different room types • Different seasonal date ranges • Different occupancy pricing • Different child age categories • Different family room pricing • Different pricing policies and exceptions We need a flexible pricing engine that can accommodate these variations without requiring custom programming for each supplier. This is an internal business application for our staff. It is not an online booking engine. Required Functionality Supplier Database The application should allow us to: • Add and manage safari lodges and camps • Organize suppliers by country and destination • Store room types and supplier information • Archive or deactivate suppliers Seasonal Pricing Every supplier defines its own seasons. The system should allow us to: • Create unlimited seasons • Define custom start and end dates • Assign pricing to each season Season names are not important—the system simply needs to recognize the correct date ranges. Occupancy Pricing Each room type may have different pricing for: • Single occupancy • Double occupancy • Triple occupancy However, occupancy pricing often varies depending on the guest composition. Examples include: • Three adults • Two adults + one child • One adult + two children Each combination may have different pricing. Family Room Pricing Many lodges offer family accommodations. Family rooms may accommodate anywhere from three to six guests. Pricing may depend on: • Number of adults • Number of children • Ages of children • Maximum room occupancy • Supplier-specific pricing rules Every supplier may have completely different requirements. Flexible Pricing Rules One of the most important aspects of this project is flexibility. Examples of pricing rules include: • Child under a certain age stays free • Child rates apply only within specific age ranges • Third adult has different pricing • Family room pricing varies by occupancy • Different pricing based on guest combinations These are only examples. We are looking for a flexible system that allows supplier-specific pricing rules to be configured rather than hard-coded. Pricing Calculator After rates have been entered, staff should be able to retrieve pricing quickly. For example: Calculate the accommodation cost for: • Lodge: Entim Camp • Travel Dates: August 10–13 • Guests: • 2 Adults • 2 Children (ages 6 and 10) • Family Room The system should automatically: • Identify the applicable season(s) • Apply the appropriate pricing rules • Calculate nightly accommodation costs • Return the total accommodation cost If a stay spans multiple seasons, the system should automatically calculate each night using the appropriate seasonal pricing.
