Move E-commerce Site from X-Cart

I have a website hosted and using the e-commerce solution from X-Cart. I want to move it to a cheaper module which gives me the same flexibility. The ideal candidate will have experience in web development and e-commerce solutions, and be able to identify and implement a cost-effective alternative to X-Cart.
