==================================================================== FREELANCER ONLY - WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN AGENT - DO NOT APPLY ==================================================================== The Role We build production Laravel applications and use Claude Code as part of our day-to-day workflow. We're looking for an experienced developer who knows Laravel, writes good code with Claude Code, and understands agentic workflows well enough to help build them — including the MCP servers and connections that back them. Above all, we want someone who takes ownership of their work end to end and uses AI to move faster, not to skip the thinking. What you'll do - Take features from spec through agent-assisted implementation to reviewed, tested, deployed code. - Maintain our PHP/Laravel services: Eloquent models, queues and jobs, APIs, and the reliability work that keeps them running. - Design and run agentic workflows, and build out the MCP servers and connections they depend on. - Write efficient queries and the indexes to support them. - Review AI-generated code to the same standard as anything else. Whoever wrote the first draft, you're accountable for what ships. How we work - Spec-driven. The spec is the primary artifact; code is generated from it. We expect specs precise enough for an agent to implement and clear enough for a reviewer to verify. - Agentic tools daily. Claude Code in the terminal and IDE, git worktrees for parallel runs, session resumption for longer work, subagents for context-bounded tasks. - Human-in-the-loop. Agents propose, engineers decide. We don't merge code we can't explain. Requirements Laravel / PHP: - 4+ few years of production Laravel and PHP. - Eloquent, migrations, queues and background jobs (Horizon / Redis), event-driven patterns, REST/API design. - Testing with Pest or PHPUnit as part of normal work. Databases: - Write efficient queries and reason about how they execute. - Solid MySQL, including composite and well-chosen indexes. - MongoDB experience. Working with AI: - Competent using Claude Code to write good code — not just generate it. - Understand agentic workflows well enough to design and build them, including MCP servers and connections. - Think clearly about the caveats and failure modes of working with different models. - Have judgment on which model fits which task — when to reach for Opus, Sonnet, a GPT model, etc. Ownership: - Rich hands-on experience, and the judgment to use AI to work more efficiently rather than to cut corners. - Take a task, break it into manageable pieces, and execute end to end — including reviewing your own work, not just writing it. - Go find the context you need: check in with the PM, pull what's relevant from HubSpot, dig for the answer instead of sitting idle waiting for one. - Own the outcome. We're not looking for someone who tries to one-shot tasks or asks for sign-off at every step. - Clear written communication — the same skill that makes for good specs. Nice to have - AWS, particularly Docker with ECS. - Frontend work with our stack: JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue. - Configured subagents, hooks, or MCP servers for a team, not just yourself. - Laravel ecosystem depth: Livewire, Inertia, Filament, published Composer packages. - Experience in proptech or real estate tech
