Senior Laravel Developer for Existing PHP Application Work and Support

We have an existing web application built with Laravel and PHP and are looking for an experienced Senior Laravel Developer to help us improve and maintain it. The application is already in production. We need someone who can understand the existing codebase, complete new backend work and resolve technical issues without disrupting current functionality. Our first priority is: Resolve the application’s performance issues and optimise several slow MySQL queries. The work will include reviewing the existing Laravel application, understanding the current database and business logic, and completing the agreed improvements. Responsibilities may include: • Developing and improving Laravel backend features • Fixing PHP and Laravel bugs • Updating MySQL queries and database logic • Improving existing APIs and third-party integrations • Testing completed changes before deployment • Supporting staging and production releases • Providing clear progress updates and realistic estimates We are looking for a developer with strong professional experience in Laravel, PHP and MySQL who is comfortable working with an existing production application. Experience with REST APIs, payment integrations, Redis or cloud deployment would be useful when relevant to the assigned tasks. We will provide access to the existing codebase, project requirements and a prioritised list of tasks. This may become ongoing work if the initial phase is completed successfully.
