Fractional AI & Frontier Technology Architect (Remote | Fractional | Ongoing) We’re building a network of senior technologists who can help design and deliver practical solutions using AI and other emerging technologies. This isn’t a role for someone who thinks every problem needs an LLM. We’re looking for experienced consultants and architects who understand how to apply AI, machine learning, automation, advanced analytics, digital twins, agentic AI and other frontier technologies where they genuinely create value—and who know when a simpler solution is the better answer. Projects will vary from early discovery and technical strategy through to solution architecture, proof of concept, and production delivery across multiple sectors. What you’ll do * Work with clients to understand complex business and operational problems. * Recommend appropriate technologies and solution approaches. * Design secure, scalable architectures. * Build or oversee AI and machine learning solutions where appropriate. * Support delivery from discovery through to production. * Collaborate with software engineers, security specialists and client teams. * Contribute to proposals and technical roadmaps. We’re looking for people with experience in some of the following: * AI and Machine Learning * Large Language Models * Agentic AI * Data Science * Python * Cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS or Azure) * APIs and systems integration * Enterprise architecture * Security by design * Automation * Digital twins * Modern software engineering You don’t need experience in every area, but you should be comfortable working across multiple technologies and understanding how they fit together. Ideal background You’ll probably have worked as a: * Principal Engineer * AI Architect * Solutions Architect * CTO * Technical Lead * Machine Learning Engineer * Data Scientist * Enterprise Architect Consulting experience is highly desirable.
