Data Scientist – Ontologies & Knowledge Graphs

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist with strong expertise in Ontologies and Knowledge Graphs to support the design and implementation of semantic data models for financial and tax-related information. In this role, you will work on building scalable knowledge structures that enable advanced analytics, intelligent data integration, and AI-driven applications within the Finance and Tax domain. This is a fully remote position with an immediate start. Your Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain ontologies and knowledge graphs for Finance and Tax data Model business taxonomies, including regulatory concepts, financial entities, and tax classifications Integrate semantic knowledge graphs into existing data science and analytics pipelines Collaborate closely with Finance and Tax domain experts to create accurate semantic data models Ensure the quality, consistency, and long-term maintenance of ontology and graph structures Contribute to the evolution of semantic architectures supporting AI and advanced analytics initiatives Required Skills & Technologies Strong experience with RDF, OWL, SPARQL, and SHACL Hands-on experience with graph databases such as Neo4j or GraphDB Experience using ontology modeling tools such as Protégé (or similar) Advanced Python skills, including libraries such as: rdflib spaCy NetworkX Experience integrating semantic technologies into Data Science or AI workflows Familiarity with LLM-assisted ontology generation is considered a strong advantage Requirements Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Ontology Engineering and Knowledge Graph projects Proven experience designing and implementing semantic data models Ideally, experience within the Finance, Tax, Regulatory, or Compliance domain Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment ⚠️ Important: Candidates who attach a CV to their application will be prioritized.
