Mirth Connect Developer / Integration Developer

Mirth Connect Developer | HL7/FHIR Integration | Python APIs | Healthcare Interoperability Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) Developer / Healthcare Integration Engineer to join our team for ongoing healthcare interoperability projects. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining Mirth Connect channels, integrating HL7/FHIR interfaces, building Python APIs, and working with healthcare EMR/EHR systems. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who has worked on production healthcare integration projects. Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain Mirth Connect environments Design, develop, and support Mirth Connect channels Build HL7 v2/v3 interfaces (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, etc.) Develop and maintain FHIR API integrations Create JavaScript transformers, filters, and code templates inside Mirth Consume and expose REST/SOAP APIs Perform ETL processing for CSV, XML, JSON, HL7, and other healthcare data formats Integrate with SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases Develop Python REST APIs using FastAPI or Flask Migrate integration logic from Mirth into Python microservices where appropriate Troubleshoot interface failures and optimize performance Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting for production integrations Document integration workflows and deployment processes Required Skills: 5+ years of Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) experience Strong knowledge of HL7 v2, HL7 v3, FHIR, SMART on FHIR Experience integrating with Epic, Cerner, Athena, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, or other EMRs/EHRs Strong Python development experience (FastAPI or Flask preferred) JavaScript development inside Mirth Connect SQL Server and PostgreSQL XML, JSON, CSV, ETL pipelines REST and SOAP API integration Healthcare interoperability experience Git and CI/CD workflows Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
