Lead Software Engineer (AI Platforms & Cloud Applications)

We're looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our growing team and help build intelligent cloud-based applications powered by modern AI technologies. You'll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing software. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies Architect maintainable software solutions that support long-term product growth Develop secure APIs for internal services and third-party integrations Integrate external platforms using OAuth, REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven workflows Build AI-powered features using commercial large language models such as Claude, OpenAI, or similar services Create structured prompts and AI workflows for predictable business automation Develop autonomous AI workflows capable of interacting with approved tools and services Implement asynchronous processing using queues, scheduled jobs, and background workers Optimize application performance, reliability, and security Configure cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational stability Contribute to technical documentation and engineering best practices Required Qualifications Extensive professional experience building production web applications Strong expertise with React, Next.js, and TypeScript Professional backend development experience with Python (Django or FastAPI preferred) Deep understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed system design Experience integrating external SaaS platforms and enterprise APIs Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services Experience working with AI APIs and language model integrations Familiarity with prompt engineering and structured AI outputs Strong understanding of PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases Experience with Git, GitHub workflows, and automated deployments Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and application security Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions Preferred Skills Candidates with experience in any of the following will receive additional consideration: Anthropic Claude API OpenAI Assistants or Responses API AI orchestration frameworks Docker and containerized environments Redis or message queue technologies Celery or other background task frameworks AWS services including Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, SQS, and IAM Vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Multi-tenant SaaS architecture Production monitoring and observability platforms Who We're Looking For The successful candidate is someone who: Enjoys working across frontend, backend, cloud, and AI technologies Learns unfamiliar systems quickly Makes thoughtful architectural decisions Writes clean, maintainable, well-tested code Communicates technical concepts clearly Takes ownership of projects with minimal supervision Works effectively with distributed teams Application Requirements When applying, please include: A brief overview of your software engineering background.
