Currently our VRP system is prioritizing the way from the drivers home and the way back and finding stores along the way,, so for example, what happens is the driver would visit neighborhood A and pick up three stores from a total of 20 stores in neighborhood A. And then continue to neighborhood Bvwhere he would do most of his work for the day Like 30 stores and then he will go back down towards his home and pass by neighborhood C. And do 3 stores in neighborhood. C
That's not what the user wants.
The user would like a more human-like optimization where the driveway naturally should finish as much as he can in neighborhood. A before moving on to neighborhood b and not entire neighborhood c. Until he has finished neighborhood b
We suspect the issue is twofold. The first one is related to the how the solver is doing some choices of his stores
The second issue is that the engine is caring too much about the way from the driver's home and the way back to the driver's house and so we thought we should probably just at least definitely ignore the way back unlike assume that the last store to be visited on that day is the last store of the journey, but I'm not sure if this will solve the entire problem
Day 1 for example , he stay in the same neighborhood (neighborhood A)until he finishes that neighborhood (neighborhood A) and then if he still has time , he should start to a new neighborhood (neighborhood B )
Day 2 , maybe if you think it's good driver should pick up where he last stopped (neighborhood B )
we have data about what neighborhood each shop belongs to
through our investgation we have identified some rules:
rule 1 - driver most always try to achieve maximum hours of work time available
rule 2- driver must not exit district until all shops in that district are finished, and should choose the next district smartly to be most efficent
rule 3- driver must delivery to all "possible" mandatory stores
rule 4 - each day is a new start, choice of initial district needs to be smart not to waste the day
