Skilled Node.js Developer

We are looking for a skilled Node.js developer to join our team and help us build scalable, high-performance web applications. Your primary focus will be supporting our active startup project for the US insurance market, which features a sophisticated search and data export system built on the Quasar framework, NestJS, and TypeScript. In addition to driving this core project forward and optimizing its heavy data workflows on PostgreSQL, you will maintain and update a secondary side project built on PHP (Zend Framework) and manage automated deployment pipelines via GitLab CI/CD. Key Responsibilities ● Core Product Development: Enhance and optimize our data platform, specifically managing high-performance data indexing for sophisticated search features and data export modules. ● Server-Side Development: Write clean, efficient, and reusable code for scalable back-end services and APIs using NestJS and TypeScript. ● Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas using TypeORM to ensure fast query response times for complex lookups. ● Frontend Integration: Build and maintain responsive, data-heavy user friendly interfaces using Vue.js and the Quasar framework. ● Side Project Maintenance: Maintain, debug, and implement feature updates for an existing secondary application built with PHP and Zend Framework (Laminas). ● DevOps & Infrastructure: Maintain code repositories, configure GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and containerize applications using Docker for seamless deployment. Required Skills & Qualifications ● Backend Architecture: Good understanding of Node.js with production experience using NestJS and TypeScript. ● Database Expertise: Proven experience with PostgreSQL and object-relational mapping using TypeORM, with a strong grasp of query optimization for data-heavy exports. ● Frontend Development: Experience building cross-platform, highly interactive user interfaces with the Quasar framework (Vue.js). ● Secondary Tech: Solid working knowledge of PHP with specific hands-on experience using Zend Framework (or Laminas) to maintain legacy code. ● DevOps & Version Control: Proficiency with GitLab, writing automated CI/CD pipelines, and building/managing Docker containers. ● Soft Skills: Problem-solving mindset for complex data structures, attention to data security regulations (e.g., US market compliance), and collaborative team spirit. [3] Preferred Qualifications ● Experience working in FinTech, InsurTech, or the US insurance market. ● Experience handling large-scale data processing, background jobs, or file generation (CSV, PDF, Excel) in Node.js. ● Experience migrating legacy PHP/Zend applications over to modern microservices. ● Fluent English
