Solution Architect / Fractional CTO for SaaS App (React, Node.js, Python, AWS)

We are an early-stage SaaS startup looking for an experienced Solution Architect / Fractional CTO to advise on our architecture and guide our technical direction on an ongoing hourly basis. This is a part-time, flexible engagement rather than a full build. Our product is built with React, Next.js, Node.js, and Python on AWS, with a PostgreSQL database. We are preparing to scale and want ongoing expert input as we make architecture and infrastructure decisions. What you will help us with on an hourly basis: Review our software architecture, codebase structure, and AWS setup, and advise on improvements. Identify risks and bottlenecks around scalability, performance, and cost as they come up. Help us shape API design, database structure, and infrastructure choices. Contribute to a prioritized technical roadmap and revisit it with us as priorities shift. Join regular check-in calls to discuss progress and decisions, and provide fractional CTO level guidance to our founder and small team. We are looking for a senior full-stack developer who has moved into a solution architect or CTO role and can give practical, actionable guidance. This is a great fit if you enjoy advisory and architecture work, communicate clearly to a non-technical founder, and can commit a few hours per week on an ongoing basis. Engagement details: hourly contract, roughly 5 to 10 hours per week to start, flexible schedule, with the possibility to continue long term.
