WordPress Developer for Privacy-Compliant Sites

WordPress Developer - Privacy & Cookie Consent Implementation (PST) VegaNext is a technology and security consulting firm. We help mid-market and enterprise clients build and securely run their web platforms. We're looking for a WordPress Developer with strong privacy and consent implementation skills to build, maintain, and audit client sites. What you'll do Build, customize, and maintain WordPress sites (themes, plugins, integrations) Optimize performance, security, and reliability, and troubleshoot production issues Implement and maintain cookie/consent banners, tracker blocking, and privacy-compliant behavior Audit live sites for hidden trackers and verify that consent choices are technically enforced Prevent regressions through testing, monitoring, and disciplined change control What we're looking for Strong hands-on WordPress experience: themes, plugins, performance, security, and production troubleshooting Proven ability to implement cookie/consent banners and tracker blocking across scripts, embeds, tag managers, and third-party services Ability to audit a site for hidden trackers, confirm consent is enforced, and prevent regressions Strong client-facing communication skills Nice to have Experience with consent platforms (OneTrust, Cookiebot, Osano) Familiarity with GDPR and CCPA/CPRA Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager, analytics, and marketing pixels Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP Logistics Fully remote Must maintain consistent overlap with Pacific Time core hours (approx. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT)
