WordPress Webmaster | Technical Performance, Security & Plugin Optimization

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Webmaster to become a long-term technical partner for our company website. This role is focused on maintaining a healthy, secure, and high-performing WordPress website. This is not a posting that would involve content creation or design. The ideal candidate is highly technical, proactive, and comfortable diagnosing WordPress issues before they become problems. Responsibilities - Evaluate and improve overall website performance and page speed - Diagnose and resolve Core Web Vitals and loading issues - Audit, troubleshoot, and optimize WordPress plugins - Recommend plugin replacements when appropriate Identify and resolve plugin conflicts - Keep WordPress core, themes, and plugins updated safely - Strengthen website security and implement WordPress security best practices - Monitor for malware, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity - Review server configuration and caching recommendations - Optimize images, CSS, JavaScript, and database performance - Identify and fix technical SEO issues related to website performance - Troubleshoot technical website issues as they arise - Perform routine maintenance and health checks - Document recommendations and completed work - Familiarity with PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - Experience with Google Search Console and Google Tag Manager - Experience with uptime and performance monitoring tools - Experience with social media tag managers (Linkedin, Pinterest) - Experience with Hubspot Plugins - Experience with Typeform - Experience with GTMetrix (or similar) Please include the following in your submission: - Links to WordPress websites you've maintained - Examples of performance improvements you've achieved (before/after metrics are a plus) - Your preferred tools for diagnosing WordPress performance issues - Your availability and typical response time for urgent issues The first milestone of this project is to perform a comprehensive technical audit of our WordPress website. This milestone should include: a review of our plugins, security assessment, a prioritized list of recommendations, and an estimated timeline for completing each recommendation. Following completion of the audit, we'll review the findings together and determine which recommendations will become subsequent project milestones. This is expected to begin as a part-time, ongoing engagement with the potential for a long-term relationship for the right candidate.
