com_emf Enhancement – Effective Date Limits Implementation (Phase 1)

This project concerns the enhancement of the existing custom Joomla component "com_emf" to support the implementation of a new electromagnetic radiation limits framework based on effective dates. The objective is to allow the system to automatically apply the correct regulatory limits according to the date associated with each measurement, ensuring that historical calculations continue to use the limits that were valid at the time, while newer calculations use the updated limits. The work includes: • Design and implementation of a date-aware limits framework. • Integration of effective-date limits into all relevant calculation processes. • Update of broadband and selective-band calculation logic. • Update of aggregate calculations and related processing. • Historical data validation and consistency checks. • Development of recalculation/backfill mechanisms where required. • Update of reports, charts, infographics and XLS exports. • Full testing and validation of results across historical and future date ranges. The implementation will be delivered in four milestones: Milestone 1 – Limits Foundation & Data Model Milestone 2 – Core Logic Integration Milestone 3 – Aggregates & Backfill Milestone 4 – Reports, Charts, XLS & Final Validation Deliverables: • Fully implemented effective-date limits framework. • Updated calculation engine. • Updated aggregate calculations. • Updated reports and exports. • Validation and testing documentation. • Production-ready implementation. The work will be performed on the existing com_emf component and must preserve compatibility with the current production system until the Joomla migration phase begins.
