Senior QA Automation Engineer : Framework Design & Test Automation

Job Description : - We are looking for an experienced QA automation contractor to assess our current testing setup and build out an automation framework for test case creation and execution. This is a short-term, outcome-driven engagement. A core expectation from your role would be to recommend the right tooling based on our application architecture, team skill set, and existing test coverage. You will start with a short discovery phase, reviewing our current QA process, existing test cases, application type, and CI/CD setup. Based on that, you will propose an automation framework architecture with clear justification for tool and language choices (for example Playwright, Cypress, AI Agents, or others), then build out the framework along with a working set of automated test cases covering priority flows. Deliverables include a framework design document explaining architecture, folder structure, and design patterns; automated execution for an agreed set of critical test scenarios; CI/CD integration guidance; and documentation so our internal team can maintain and extend the framework after the engagement ends. You should have at least 6 years of hands-on QA automation experience, having built frameworks from scratch across more than one tool or stack, not just executed within an existing one. Strong judgment on UI versus API-level testing versus a hybrid approach is essential, along with CI/CD integration experience (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar). You should work independently with minimal handholding and explain trade-offs clearly, not just follow instructions.
