Full-Stack Developer Needed to Build an Interactive Health Improvement Program**
Project Overview
Heart Squad is developing **Blood Pressure Mastery™**, a personalized, 12-month online health improvement program.
This is not a traditional online course, textbook, or collection of videos.
The program will guide each participant through a structured improvement process involving:
* Blood pressure
* ECG and heart rhythm
* Weight and body composition
* Physical activity
* Nutrition
* Sleep and recovery
* Stress
* Personal health goals
Heart Squad members will use the program as part of their Heart Squad membership.
Each section must be completed before the participant advances to the next section. The experience should feel like a guided personal health journey rather than a classroom course.
What We Need Built
We need an experienced developer or small development team to design and build the online program experience.
The program must allow participants to:
1. Create a secure account and personal profile.
2. Complete one section at a time.
3. Read short educational content.
4. Watch short videos when included.
5. Answer questions and complete personal assessments.
6. Save their answers automatically.
7. Create personal health goals.
8. Develop a 12-month improvement plan.
9. Break annual goals into quarterly and monthly milestones.
10. Complete weekly actions and reflections.
11. Review their progress over time.
12. Receive personalized AI coaching.
13. Connect course activity with Heart Squad health data where technically available.
14. Generate quarterly and annual progress reports.
15. Resume the program at the exact point where they stopped.
16. Prevent advancement until required activities in the current section are completed.
Program Structure
The initial program will include:
* Welcome and onboarding
* Personal health story
* Blood pressure education
* Correct blood pressure measurement
* Personal Health Blueprint
* Personal Improvement Plan
* Monthly health missions
* Weekly action steps
* Monthly reviews
* Quarterly reviews
* Final 12-month Health Improvement Report
The program structure must be reusable so Heart Squad can later create additional programs such as:
* Sleep Mastery
* Body Composition Mastery
* Heart Rhythm Mastery
* Weight Mastery
* Diabetes Risk Reduction
We do not want to rebuild the platform for every future program.
Required User Experience
The participant should see a clean and simple dashboard showing:
* Current section
* Percentage completed
* Current goal
* This week’s action
* Recent accomplishments
* Next required step
* Quarterly progress
* Messages from the AI Coach
Each section should use a consistent format:
1. Learn
2. Reflect
3. Choose
4. Plan
5. Act
6. Review
7. Continue
The participant should complete all required fields or activities before the next section becomes available.
AI Coaching Requirements
The platform should support an AI Coach that can:
* Reference the participant’s goals and previous answers.
* Recognize completed activities.
* Encourage monitoring consistency.
* Summarize weekly and monthly progress.
* Ask reflection questions.
* Help participants choose realistic next actions.
* Identify missing course activities.
* Generate quarterly progress summaries.
* Help prepare the final 12-month report.
The AI must remain within an educational and coaching role. It must not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or tell participants to change medications.
Experience integrating OpenAI or another established large-language-model API is strongly preferred.
Heart Squad Integration
The program may eventually exchange information with the Heart Squad platform, including:
* Blood pressure
* Heart rate
* ECG completion
* Weight
* BMI
* Body fat
* Visceral fat
* Skeletal muscle
* Activity
* Sleep
* Oxygen saturation
Applicants should understand API integrations and be able to work with the Heart Squad development team.
The first version may use manually entered data or imported summary data while deeper integrations are developed.
Administrator Requirements
Heart Squad administrators should be able to:
* Create and edit programs.
* Create sections and lessons.
* Add text, video, images, questions, and activities.
* Define which fields are required.
* Control section order.
* Set completion rules.
* View participant progress.
* Review aggregate engagement.
* Generate completion reports.
* Manage organizations and participant groups.
* Duplicate an existing program as the starting point for a new program.
* Update content without hiring a developer for every change.
A practical content-management system is essential.
Technical Skills Required
The ideal applicant should have experience with:
* Full-stack web application development
* Learning management systems or interactive course platforms
* React, Next.js, Vue, or a comparable modern frontend framework
* Node.js, Python, PHP/Laravel, or a comparable backend framework
* Database design using PostgreSQL, MySQL, Firebase, or a similar system
* User authentication and role-based permissions
* Progress tracking and gated content
* Dynamic forms and assessments
* Dashboard development
* API development and integration
* AI and OpenAI API integration
* Secure cloud deployment
* Responsive mobile and desktop design
* Content-management systems
* Automated email and in-app notifications
* PDF or web-based report generation
* GitHub or another version-control system
Experience with Firebase and Google Cloud is especially useful because Heart Squad currently uses Firebase.
Privacy and Security
This platform will contain personal health-related information.
The developer must understand:
* Secure authentication
* Encryption in transit and at rest
* Role-based access
* Data minimization
* Audit logging
* Secure API design
* Privacy-by-design principles
* HIPAA-aware software architecture
Applicants should clearly explain their experience handling sensitive or health-related data.
Formal HIPAA compliance will depend on the final architecture, vendors, agreements, policies, and use of the platform. The developer should not make unsupported claims that a product is automatically “HIPAA compliant.”

## What We Will Provide
We will provide:
* The program concept
* Program branding
* Educational content
* Participant exercises
* AI coaching principles
* Health monitoring requirements
* Heart Squad technical contacts
* Review and approval of workflows
* Feedback throughout development
The selected developer will be expected to organize this material into a practical and engaging digital experience.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is not simply a website designer.
We are looking for someone who thinks like a:
* Product manager
* Learning-experience designer
* Full-stack developer
* User-experience designer
* AI integration specialist
The developer should be able to take a detailed concept and convert it into a clear, easy-to-use product for ordinary adults who may not be highly technical.
Healthcare, digital health, coaching, wellness-platform, or behavior-change experience is strongly preferred.
Application Questions
Please answer the following:
1. What similar learning, coaching, healthcare, or guided-program platforms have you built?
2. How would you prevent participants from moving forward before completing required activities?
3. How would you structure the platform so new Citizen Safety Institute programs can be added later?
4. What technology stack would you recommend and why?
5. What experience do you have integrating AI or the OpenAI API?
6. What experience do you have working with Firebase or Google Cloud?
7. How would you protect sensitive participant information?
8. Would you recommend building this from the ground up or customizing an existing learning-management platform?
9. Who will complete the work—you personally, an agency team, or subcontractors?
10. Please provide links or demonstrations of comparable work.
Important
Please do not apply if your experience is limited to:
* Basic WordPress websites
* Marketing landing pages
* Installing prebuilt course templates
* Graphic design without application-development experience
* Building static pages without databases, user accounts, progress tracking, or application logic
We are looking for a long-term development partner who can help create the first health-improvement program and establish a reusable platform for future programs.
