This product for small business that receives a high volume of phone orders every day. During busy periods many calls get missed — which means lost orders. We want to build an MVP / pilot of a system that:
Uses an AI voice agent to answer incoming calls and take orders in [language(s) — e.g. English / local language].
Uses a WhatsApp AI agent that can take order confirmations and complete orders over chat — both as a follow-up to missed/unanswered calls and as a standalone ordering channel.
Provides a simple dashboard to view and manage incoming orders.
Important: We do not want a voice model built from scratch. We want you to integrate existing voice AI platforms (e.g. Vapi, Retell, OpenMic, or similar) with the WhatsApp Business API and a lightweight order dashboard. Please factor this into your approach and quote.
Scope of work (MVP)
Inbound AI voice agent — answers calls, understands [language(s)], captures a structured order (product + quantity), reads it back, and confirms.
WhatsApp AI agent (core feature) — a conversational WhatsApp agent (not just a static template) that can:
greet the customer and understand their request in [language(s)],
capture or confirm an order (product + quantity),
read the order back and get a clear confirmation, and
hand the confirmed order to the same backend/dashboard as the voice channel.
Missed / unanswered call → WhatsApp follow-up — when a call is missed or not completed, the system automatically reaches the customer on WhatsApp and continues the conversation through the WhatsApp AI agent above, so the customer can finish placing or confirming the order in chat (not just receive a "we missed you" message). A callback request should also be possible.
Order management dashboard — view incoming orders, products, and customers; update order status; export the order list. Orders from both voice and WhatsApp should land in the same place.
Telephony setup — connect a phone number (Twilio or similar) for inbound calls and missed/unanswered-call detection. Provide transcriptions each call log
Documentation + clean handover — we must own all code and all platform accounts, and be able to run and maintain it ourselves.
Required skills
Conversational / voice AI integration (Vapi, Retell, OpenMic, or equivalent)
WhatsApp Business API / BSP experience, including building a conversational AI agent on WhatsApp (Twilio, 360dialog, Gupshup, Meta Cloud API, etc.)
Telephony (Twilio / SIP), including missed/unanswered-call detection
Backend + a simple frontend dashboard
API integrations and clean, maintainable, well-documented code
Commercials
Fixed-price MVP / pilot. We are looking for a paid contract only.
If the pilot is successful, there is potential for ongoing work (new features, more locations/clients, maintenance retainer).
