Senior Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce Backend Developer – Custom Modules & API Integrations

We are seeking an experienced Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce Backend Developer to assist with custom module development / third-party API integrations. You will be working closely with our team to write clean, modular, and scalable code following Adobe Commerce best practices. Key Responsibilities: Design and build custom Magento 2 backend modules from scratch. Integrate third-party APIs via REST and GraphQL. Optimize database queries, indexing, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and server-side performance. Troubleshoot complex architecture issues, debug backend bugs, and ensure security patch compliance. Write clean, well-documented PHP code adhering to PSR standards and Magento architecture guidelines. Required Skills & Experience: 3+ years of hands-on backend development experience with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce. Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x, MySQL, XML, Dependency Injection, and Magento’s ORM framework. Proven experience building custom extensions and extending core functionality using plugins/interceptors, observers, and preference overrides correctly. Familiarity with caching tools (Redis, Varnish) and search engines (Elasticsearch / OpenSearch). Mastery of Git, Composer, and deployment workflows. Strong communication skills and ability to meet deadlines independently. Nice-to-Haves: Adobe Certified Expert / Master (Developer or Architect). Experience with headless architecture, PWA Studio, or Hyvä Themes. Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit, MFTF).
