Backend Developer for Data Ingestion

## Project Overview I am looking for an experienced backend developer to build a reliable data ingestion tool using the Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) API. The goal is to download and maintain historical daily stock price data for all NASDAQ-100 and S&P 500 companies in a local PostgreSQL database. ## Requirements The application should: * Connect to the Financial Modeling Prep REST API * Retrieve the latest NASDAQ-100 and S&P 500 constituent lists * Download complete historical daily OHLCV price data * Store the data in PostgreSQL * Avoid duplicate records * Support incremental updates (download only missing/new records) * Handle API rate limits gracefully * Include retry logic and proper error handling * Produce detailed execution logs ## Database The developer should create the required PostgreSQL schema and write clean SQL scripts. ## Deliverables * Complete source code * PostgreSQL database schema * Configuration via environment variables (.env) * Documentation explaining installation and usage * Instructions for running initial import and daily updates ## Preferred Skills * REST API integration * PostgreSQL * Data ingestion / ETL * Financial market APIs * Clean, maintainable code ## Nice to Have Experience with Financial Modeling Prep, Polygon, Alpha Vantage, Twelve Data, or similar financial data providers.
