Software Engineer – Workflow Automation (n8n)

We are seeking Software Engineers to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of a self-hosted n8n automation platform. The role focuses on building workflow automations, developing custom integrations, resolving production issues, and improving system reliability. This position is well-suited for engineers with strong JavaScript/TypeScript experience, Python skills, and backend/API integration expertise, along with exposure to frontend development. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and maintain n8n workflows and automations • Build custom nodes, integrations, and supporting services • Troubleshoot workflow failures, platform issues, and integration errors • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to implement automation solutions • Improve platform reliability through monitoring, debugging, and documentation • Support onboarding of new automation use cases and users Required Skills: • Strong experience in JavaScript and TypeScript • Proficiency in Python • Experience with backend and frontend development • Strong understanding of software engineering principles • Experience designing and integrating APIs • Familiarity with distributed systems and troubleshooting complex issues • Ability to work with technical teams and business stakeholders Nice to Have: • Experience with n8n or similar workflow automation tools • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments • Experience with PostgreSQL • Experience building AI/LLM-based integrations • Open-source contribution experience Tools & Technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, APIs, n8n, workflow automation systems, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AI/LLM tools Engagement: Remote contract role (LATAM candidates preferred)
