Senior Systems & Computer Vision Consultant (Linux, OCR, Infrastructure)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Systems & Computer Vision Engineer for an initial consulting engagement, with the potential to transition into a long-term collaboration. We are tackling a complex infrastructure and automation problem that bridges the gap between hardware bare-metal provisioning and real-world data extraction. The Scope of the Project Involves: • Computer Vision & OCR: Designing robust pipelines to achieve high OCR accuracy on worn, real-world physical asset labels, handling variations in lighting, damage, and angles. • Linux Infrastructure & Automation: Setting up robust network booting (PXE) environments, DHCP/TFTP configurations, and automated provisioning systems (using tools like Ansible, Cobbler, or Foreman) to handle seamless bare-metal deployment. • Hardware Automation & Normalization: Querying and normalizing system DMI data, interfacing with real-world sensor/hardware outputs, and mapping this data seamlessly into an ERP/backend system (Odoo integration). Initial Phase (Consulting): We want to start with a short-term advisory/consulting phase to review our current architectural direction, environment setup, and problem space. If there is a strong technical and cultural alignment, we intend to expand this into a core, long-term development role on the team. What We Are Looking For: • A strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with deep expertise in systems programming, machine learning, or hardware automation. • Proven experience with network boot environments (PXE) and automated provisioning tools (Ansible, etc.) as a standard part of your Linux engineering toolkit. • Demonstrated portfolio or GitHub repositories showcasing real-world OCR implementations, sensor data processing, or hardware-level integrations.
