Virtual Machine and Computer Specialist

I’m looking for an experienced systems administrator or DevOps engineer to help me set up a secure virtual machine for development work. The goal is to create a VM environment that is isolated from my main computer and cannot access sensitive resources on the host machine. Requirements: * Set up a virtual machine using a recommended platform such as VirtualBox, VMware, UTM, Hyper-V, or another appropriate option. * Install and configure a Linux development environment, preferably Ubuntu. * Ensure the VM is isolated from the host machine. * Disable shared folders, shared clipboard, drag-and-drop, and unnecessary host integrations. * Configure networking so the VM cannot access my main computer, local network resources, or production database. * Set up firewall rules to block access to specified IP addresses, ports, or private network ranges. * Create a clean development workspace inside the VM. * Provide clear documentation of the setup and any security rules applied. * Explain how I can safely start, stop, snapshot, and reset the VM. Ideal freelancer: * Experience with virtual machines. * Strong understanding of network isolation, firewalls, and secure development environments. * Familiarity with developer tooling and sandboxed environments. * Able to explain the setup clearly to a non-expert. Deliverables: 1. Fully configured isolated VM. 2. Firewall/network rules preventing access to host machine and protected resources. 3. Written setup notes and recovery/reset instructions. 4. A short walkthrough explaining how to use the VM safely.
