AI & Automation Consultant

We're looking for someone who sits somewhere between a Product Manager, Operations Consultant, and Automation Engineer. This is a part-time freelance role (around 20 hours/week) with the potential to grow into a full-time position if it's a great fit. This is not a role where you'll simply build Zapier or n8n workflows. Your job is to understand how our business operates, identify bottlenecks, and implement the highest-ROI improvements. Sometimes that means automation. Sometimes AI. Sometimes improving a process. Sometimes building a small internal tool. We care about business outcomes, not technology for its own sake. What you'll do - Shadow different teams to understand how they work. - Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. - Prioritize improvements based on business impact. - Design and implement automations using AI, APIs, scripts, or no-code tools. - Work with our engineering team when deeper development is required. - Measure the impact of your work. Example projects include: - Automating customer support workflows - AI-assisted artwork/prepress processes - Automated account flows (AP/AR) - Internal dashboards and reporting - Process optimization across operations We're looking for someone who - Thinks like a Product Manager, not just an engineer. - Is equally comfortable talking to customer support and software developers. - Has experience with automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier), AI, APIs, SQL, and ideally Python or JavaScript. - Is curious, analytical, pragmatic, and focused on ROI.
