Freight Capacity Assignment Specialist

**Job Description:** We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to take on the crucial role of Capacity Manager within our agency. This position is essential for optimizing our freight operations and ensuring that we effectively utilize the capacity we have available. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for capacity assignments, Candidate would be assigning ~25 loads per day on to different carriers inside our network for freight loads we need to have covered. Utilizing load boards and our network to 'cover' all our loads. In this role, you will be responsible for assigning carriers inside our network to freight we need trucks for, ensuring that it aligns with our operational goals and customer expectations. Your expertise in freight management will be vital in fostering strong relationships with our carriers, facilitating seamless communication, and addressing any issues that may arise during the shipping process. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: - **Capacity Assignment**: Efficiently assign freight loads to carriers in our network - **Carrier Relations**: Develop and maintain strong relationships with our network of carriers. Regularly communicate with them to understand their needs, and assign them to loads they are intested in - **Operational Oversight**: Monitor the performance of assigned carriers and assess their ability to meet deadlines and service levels. Work proactively to resolve any operational challenges that may hinder the smooth flow of freight. - **Communication**: Serve as the main point of contact for carriers regarding freight inquiries. Candidate must be willing to talk on the phone and discuss loads with carriers and assign them to our network of approved carriers. To succeed in this role, you should have a solid background in freight management, with proven experience in managing carrier relationships and logistics operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
