Node.js / Remotion Developer Needed — Fix Rendering Bugs & Batch Export Queue (ASAP)

Budget: $500.0 FIXED / ⭐ 4.61 (13) Spain

node.js, api

We run makeavideos.com, an AI-powered SaaS that generates faceless, documentary-style YouTube videos from scripts. The full codebase has already been handed over locally to a previous developer, and we now need someone experienced to pick it up, audit it, and fix a set of concrete bugs. Stack Node.js Remotion (video rendering) AWS Lambda for rendering External APIs for image/stock footage selection External APIs for AI voice generation (TTS) Cloudflare R2 for asset storage The problems we need fixed 1. Missing images/videos in rendered output Some renders are coming out with missing infographics, motion graphics, or video/image assets — they either fail to load or don't appear in the final export. 2. Performance — infographics/motion graphics slow things down Our previous developer flagged that certain infographic and motion-graphic elements are significantly slowing down render times. If a piece isn't worth the performance cost, we're open to removing or simplifying it — but we need someone who can actually diagnose why it's slow (composition complexity, asset loading, encoding, etc.) rather than just guessing. 3. Batch/mass export is not parallelizing This is the most urgent issue. When we start multiple exports at once, only one actually starts rendering — the rest sit queued and don't run in parallel, even on a powerful machine that clearly has the resources to handle concurrent jobs. We need someone to identify the bottleneck (Lambda concurrency limits, queue/worker configuration, local resource locking, etc.) and get true parallel/batch export working. What we need from you Solid hands-on experience with Remotion and video rendering pipelines (not just general Node.js) Experience with AWS Lambda rendering setups and concurrency/queueing issues Comfortable auditing an existing codebase and finding root causes, not just patching symptoms Available to start immediately and move fast — this is a priority fix, not a long-term roadmap item Clear communication in English (or Spanish) How to apply Please include: A short summary of a similar Remotion/video-pipeline project you've worked on Your read on what commonly causes non-parallel/serialized exports in a Lambda-based render setup (just a sentence or two — we want to see you've actually dealt with this before) Your availability and estimated timeline to a first fix We'll share repo access and more technical detail once we've selected someone.
