Senior Devops Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be the backbone of our engineering team. You will design and maintain our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure, manage our PostgreSQL databases, and ensure our Node.js microservices are deployed reliably and efficiently. Crucially, you will also be at the forefront of our AI operations, managing the infrastructure and deployment pipelines that power our integration with Google’s Gemini Flash models. Key Responsibilities GCP Infrastructure & Automation: Design, provision, and manage scalable infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Pulumi). CI/CD & Deployment: Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines (using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or similar) to automate the testing and deployment of our Node.js applications and AI microservices. AI & LLMOps Integration: Manage the operational side of our AI workloads. This includes configuring Vertex AI / Gemini Flash API access, managing API keys via Secret Manager, monitoring token usage/latency, and optimizing AI inference costs. Database Management: Administer and optimize our PostgreSQL databases (via GCP Cloud SQL). Handle automated backups, read replicas, connection pooling, performance tuning, and disaster recovery planning. Node.js Environment Optimization: Containerize Node.js applications and orchestrate them using GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) or Cloud Run. Ensure optimal runtime performance, memory management, and scaling policies for Node workloads. Observability & Monitoring: Implement comprehensive logging, monitoring, and tracing using GCP Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, and third-party tools to ensure high availability and rapid incident response. Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices across the cloud environment, including IAM policies, VPC network design, and zero-trust principles. The position will also require the ability to attain GDPR, SOC2, and ISO27001 certification. Required Qualifications Experience: 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure role. GCP Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Secret Manager). Database Skills: Strong administrative experience with PostgreSQL, specifically in managed cloud environments (Cloud SQL). Backend Familiarity: Solid understanding of Node.js runtime environments, including how to containerize, debug, and optimize Node applications for production. Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform or similar IaC tools. CI/CD: Proven experience building automated deployment pipelines. Scripting: Proficiency in bash, Python, or TypeScript/JavaScript for automation and tooling.
