Senior Software Engineer/ Technical Lead

## Role We are looking for a Product Engineering Lead to take ownership of development for Blocky and Clone.Store. Blocky is a Shopify app that lets merchants add customizable sections to their stores. Clone.Store is an AI store builder that uses Blocky as part of its product workflow. Together, they operate as one connected Shopify platform. In this role, you will be the primary developer for Clone.Store, responsible for building new features, fixing bugs, and improving the existing codebase. You will also oversee the existing Blocky development team by planning and assigning work, answering questions, reviewing completed work, coordinating QA, and ensuring features and fixes meet the requirements before release. You will work directly with the founder, who will provide product ideas, priorities, and business context. You will turn that direction into clear plans and manage the work through development, testing, and release. A typical day may include reviewing work completed for Blocky, resolving questions or blockers with the team, and then working directly on Clone.Store. ## Responsibilities - Continue developing Clone.Store by building features, fixing bugs, and improving the existing codebase - Oversee Blocky development by planning work, assigning tasks, answering questions, reviewing completed work, and coordinating QA - Turn product ideas into clear requirements, technical plans, and development tasks - Resolve blockers and make day-to-day technical decisions - Keep development moving without requiring the founder to manage each step - Provide clear updates on progress, priorities, and blockers ## What Success Looks Like - Clone.Store continues moving forward through consistent feature development and bug fixes - Blocky development is planned, reviewed, tested, and released without requiring the founder to manage each step - Developers and QA have clear requirements, priorities, and deadlines - Progress, priorities, and blockers are communicated clearly ## Requirements - Experience working as both a hands-on developer and a technical lead - Experience managing developers and taking software projects from planning through release - Strong TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js skills - Experience building or maintaining AI-powered product workflows - Strong professional written and spoken English - Experience with Shopify app development and Liquid is a plus
