Python CAD Automation – Generate 2D Engineering Drawings from STEP Files
I am looking for a freelancer to complete a Python-based automated workflow that generates 2D engineering drawings from STEP (.step / .stp) files. The solution needs to cover the following geometries and features: pipes (round, rectangular, oval, stadium), bars (H-bar, T-bar, L-bar, I-bar, O-bar, C-bar, Z-bar), holes, notches.
Scope
The solution should:
Generate an arbitrary number of valid STEP files including geometries and features as described above
Generate standard 2D engineering drawings following the ISO standard for engineering drawings: https://de.slideshare.net/slideshow/introduction-of-technical-drawing-standard/128049466#26
Create orthographic projections (front/top/side)
Front side needs to be the one with the most features, ie the T of a T-bar
Add dimensions where applicable
Include a title/information block
Export drawings to PDF
The drawings need to enable manufacture of that part without additional information
Technical Requirements
Python must be used, the work must be done in our company gitlab
Only free or open-source software/libraries may be used
The workflow must run locally (no paid cloud services)
The most important elements must have automated test coverage

Python source code
Setup instructions
Dependency list
Example generated drawings/PDFs
Documentation explaining how to run the workflow
Important
Manual drawing creation is not acceptable
You are expected to gather sample STEP files yourself as the real data is confidential.
The workflow should process STEP files automatically
