Contract Mobile Developer (UI/UX Polish & Backend Debugging)

We are a healthcare technology startup that has developed an early-stage mobile app prototype. Our next step is refining the user experience, fixing backend issues, and ensuring a polished, production-ready app. Role Overview We’re looking for a mobile developer on a contract basis to help us debug, optimize, and polish both the user interface and the backend logic before we go live. This is a short-term engagement with the potential for ongoing collaboration. Responsibilities Debug and optimize the app’s backend logic (API calls, data flows, error handling). Refine and polish the user interface, ensuring consistency, responsiveness, and a seamless experience across devices. Implement secure user authentication and ensure sensitive data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. Fix any UI/UX inconsistencies, ensuring alignment with the existing design system. Ensure the app handles notifications, background tasks, and offline capabilities. Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Support integration with our existing backend services (e.g., Supabase or other APIs). Required Skills Strong experience with cross-platform mobile development (Flutter or React Native). Proven experience in debugging backend logic and optimizing API calls. Solid understanding of secure authentication (e.g., JWT, OAuth). Experience with cloud backend platforms like Supabase, Firebase, or AWS. Expertise in responsive UI/UX design and cross-device consistency. Knowledge of secure coding practices (OWASP mobile security, encryption at rest/in transit). Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines. Nice to Have Experience in healthcare or sensitive data applications. Familiarity with AWS services. Ability to provide input on app performance and scaling.
