Shopify + PHP Developer

Shopify + PHP Developer (Ongoing Project Work) We're a digital agency looking for an experienced Shopify and PHP developer to help build and extend client sites. This is hands-on development work: templates, custom sections, backend logic, and integrations. We have a live project ready to start and expect ongoing work for the right person. What you'll be doing - Building and customising Shopify themes (we work on Dawn and custom themes) - Creating reusable, modular page sections and blocks that non-technical team members can arrange via the theme editor - Setting up and working with Shopify metaobjects and metafields to drive dynamic, data-linked content - Building dynamic listing and category pages that pull and sort content by defined fields - Implementing conditional and date-driven logic (e.g. content that changes state automatically) - Restyling sites to match a provided visual reference: typography, layout, spacing, components, navigation - Light backend and integration work in PHP, including working with hosting environments via SFTP/SSH - Troubleshooting existing functionality and fixing bugs What we're looking for - Strong Shopify Liquid experience, including sections, blocks, and the theme editor - Solid understanding of Shopify metaobjects/metafields and how to structure data for scale - Comfortable with PHP for backend logic and integrations - HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to a high standard; able to match a design reference closely - Experience with dynamic content pulls, filtering, and sorting - Experience integrating payment processors (e.g. Stripe) with Shopify, including API work and webhooks - Able to work independently, scope your own tasks from a brief, and communicate clearly - Comfortable working on live and staging environments without breaking things Nice to have - Experience with Shopify checkout, order flows, and email/notification customisation - Experience building CMS-like editing systems that hand control back to non-technical users - Cloudways or similar managed hosting experience How to apply Please share: - A short note on your relevant Shopify + PHP experience - Two or three examples of sites or sections you've built, ideally involving metaobjects, dynamic listing pages, or modular editable sections - Your availability and hourly or project rate We value clean, maintainable work and clear communication over speed.
