## Project Overview: Motorsports Telemetry Bridge (Python / Windows)
We are looking for a Python developer to build a desktop application that extracts live telemetry from popular racing simulators (**iRacing**, **Assetto Corsa**, and **Assetto Corsa Competizione**) and handles dual-stream outputs.
Note: You will not be building this from scratch. A previous prototype and open-source reference examples are already available to accelerate development and guide implementation.

### Key Scope & Requirements
* **Sim Connectivity & Adapters:** Extract data via shared memory with automatic reconnection when sims close or restart. Use a clean adapter pattern to isolate simulator-specific quirks.
* **Dual Data Streams:**
* **Live Stream:** Real-time telemetry broadcasted over WebSockets, throttled to ~60Hz for front-end consumption.
* **Historic Log:** High-frequency local logging (Parquet preferred or CSV) capturing full session data at the simulator's native rate.
* **Data Management & Robustness:** Implement non-blocking asynchronous I/O, session/lap tagging, metadata handling, and edge-case protection (session resets, pauses, frame deduplication, and crash recovery).
* **Testing & Verification:** Provide a mock data generator for testing without physical sim access, alongside a targeted `pytest` suite for core state logic.
---
### Tech Stack & Deliverables
* **Language:** Python
* **Environment:** Windows desktop (headless CLI / batch script execution)
* **Architecture:** Modular components for capture, WebSocket broadcast, and async file logging
* **Deliverables:** Clean, production-grade, well-documented code repository with setup instructions, configuration via JSON/YAML, and verification tools.
