WordPress Developer for Charity Website: 12 month maintenance and improvement retainer

We are a global maternal health research network (PrAKI.org) seeking a reliable WordPress developer for a 12-month retainer at 150 GBP/month, structured as monthly milestones. The first month will run as a paid trial before we commit to the full term. The site runs on a Donat theme with managed hosting (xneelo). The role has three parts: fix a set of current issues, maintain the site (security, updates, backups), and improve it with new pages and features as our work grows. We will share the known issues list with shortlisted candidates. We need someone who can write custom code, not just configure paid plugins. Strong WordPress skills required (PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript), plus a dependable, responsive working style. Experience with non-profit, academic, or health sites is a bonus. We work async. We hold a weekly team meeting and would share the minutes and any required website updates from that, rather than needing a separate call. You should be comfortable picking up clearly written instructions and running with them. We will agree priorities each week and keep the workload to a steady monthly rhythm. A few practicalities: we expect work to be done on a staging site, not live. Any custom code you write belongs to us, and access remains ours to manage.
