Our platform powers job search and discovery, employer subscriptions, end-to-end hiring workflows (applications, interviews, offers, credentialing), real-time messaging, video interviews, and SEO-driven growth at scale. You will join a small, product-focused engineering team working across a production monorepo: ● Backend API — Node.js/Express ● Web application — Next.js for job seekers and employers ● Admin dashboard — Next.js internal tooling for platform management Most of your work will be on the API and main web app. You may occasionally contribute to the admin dashboard for features such as careers management, content moderation, or employer tooling. ________________________________________ The Role We are hiring a Fullstack Developer to design, build, and ship new features across our backend API and frontend web app. This is not a greenfield project — you will contribute to a mature, feature-rich platform with real production complexity: affiliate job ingestion, AI-powered job matching, Stripe subscriptions, OpenSearch indexing, Socket.io real-time features, and SEO at scale. You should be comfortable owning features end-to-end: API design and implementation, database schema changes, frontend UI/UX, integration with third-party services, and manual verification before release. What You'll Work On ● Job search & discovery — Search APIs, OpenSearch sync, SEO occupation/city pages, sitemaps, and programmatic landing pages ● Hiring pipeline — Applications, dynamic screening questions, interview scheduling, job offers, credentialing, and onboarding flows ● Employer platform — Dashboards, candidate search, resume review, mass-hiring events, analytics, and subscription-gated premium features ● Job seeker experience — Job browse/apply, resume upload, application tracking, notifications, and employer reviews ● Monetization — Stripe subscription tiers, usage limits, and feature gating middleware ● Real-time & video — Socket.io messaging, presence, notifications, and Jitsi-powered video interviews ● Integrations — OpenAI (resume parsing, job matching), AWS S3, email/SMS, geocoding, affiliate job feeds ● Background jobs — Bull queue workers and cron schedulers for search indexing, cache invalidation, and data maintenance ● Admin tooling (occasional) — Internal dashboard features for careers, content, and platform operations ________________________________________ Tech Stack Backend ● Node.js, Express 4 (JavaScript) ● PostgreSQL + Prisma ORM (multi-file schema, 50+ domain models) ● Redis (caching, sessions, rate limiting) ● Bull queues for async jobs ● OpenSearch for full-text job search ● Socket.io with Redis adapter (messaging, presence, notifications) ● Stripe (subscriptions, webhooks) ● OpenAI API, AWS S3, Nodemailer, Twilio ● Sentry, Winston, Swagger ● Docker Compose for local dev (PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, Stripe CLI) ● AVA for backend tests Frontend ● Next.js 15 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript (strict) ● Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui, Radix UI ● TanStack React Query v5 for server state ● React Hook Form + Zod validation ● Custom JWT cookie-based auth (role-based routing for employers vs. job seekers) ● Socket.io client, Jitsi React SDK, Stripe.js ● FullCalendar, Chart.js, React Quill ● Playwright E2E tests ● pnpm package manager Admin dashboard ● Next.js 15, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4 ● React Hook Form, TanStack React Query, ApexCharts ________________________________________ Responsibilities ● Design and implement REST API endpoints following existing layered architecture (thin controllers, business logic in services) ● Extend the Prisma schema and sync database changes; write seed data when needed ● Build responsive Next.js pages and components for employer and job-seeker workflows ● Integrate third-party services: Stripe webhooks, OpenAI, S3 uploads, email/SMS, geocoding ● Implement and maintain background jobs (Bull queues, cron) for search indexing and scheduled tasks ● Add express-validator rules for all new user input; enforce auth and subscription middleware on protected routes ● Work on real-time features (Socket.io) and video interview flows (Jitsi) ● Build SEO-critical pages with generateMetadata, ISR, structured data, and sitemap generation ● Debug production issues involving clustering, WebSocket scaling, Redis caching, and OpenSearch sync ● Participate in code review and collaborate on API contracts between frontend and backend ________________________________________ Requirements ● 5+ years of professional software development experience, with meaningful fullstack ownership ● Strong Node.js / Express — comfortable in a large JavaScript codebase with established service-layer patterns ● PostgreSQL + Prisma — complex relations, query optimization, schema design ● React / Next.js with TypeScript — App Router, Server Components, middleware, generateMetadata ● REST API design — validation, JWT/cookie auth, error handling, rate limiting ● Redis — caching, sessions, and job queues ● Experience with Stripe subscriptions and webhooks ● Proficiency with Git in a multi-app monorepo ● Ability to navigate and extend a mature codebase without constant hand-holding ● Strong communication skills for async remote collaboration ● Comfortable with rigorous manual testing (our automated test coverage is growing but not comprehensive) ________________________________________ Nice to Have ● OpenSearch / Elasticsearch indexing and search relevance tuning ● Socket.io real-time systems (messaging, presence, clustering) ● OpenAI API integration (prompting, batch processing) ● Resume parsing, OCR, or document processing (PDF/DOCX) ● Healthcare or recruiting domain experience ● SEO at scale (sitemaps, programmatic pages, IndexNow, CDN cache tuning) ● Playwright or similar E2E testing frameworks ● Docker, production Node.js clustering ● Experience with affiliate/data ingestion pipelines at volume
