Senior Solo WordPress Developer Needed — Head of WordPress — 10+ Years Experience

We are looking for a senior solo WordPress developer to become the Head of WordPress for our team. We manage 30+ WordPress websites every month, so this is an ongoing role, not a one-time project. We need someone highly experienced, reliable, independent, and capable of taking full ownership of WordPress development, maintenance, performance, security, and troubleshooting across multiple client websites. What We Need You must have 10+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience and be able to work independently without constant supervision. You will be responsible for: * Managing, maintaining, and improving 30+ WordPress websites * Fixing bugs, layout issues, plugin conflicts, and broken functionality * Handling theme customization and custom WordPress development * Working with Elementor, WooCommerce, ACF, custom post types, and popular WordPress plugins * Improving website speed, Core Web Vitals, security, and technical SEO * Managing updates, backups, staging environments, migrations, and hosting issues * Troubleshooting urgent website problems quickly * Advising our team on best practices for WordPress builds and maintenance * Creating scalable systems and SOPs for WordPress maintenance Requirements You must be: * A solo freelancer, not an agency * Experienced with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL * Strong with Elementor, WooCommerce, ACF, APIs, hosting, cPanel, Cloudflare * Comfortable managing many WordPress websites at the same time * Detail-oriented and able to spot issues before clients do * Fast with communication and reliable with deadlines * Able to explain technical issues clearly * Available for long-term work Big Advantage If You Have Experience With * Scandinavian / Nordic business websites * Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, or Finnish websites * Multilingual WordPress sites * Website speed optimization * Security hardening * Malware cleanup * WP Engine, SiteGround, Cloudways, Kinsta, or similar hosting * Git, staging workflows, and deployment systems * Multisite WordPress setups What We Are Not Looking For We are not looking for someone who only installs plugins and makes basic Elementor edits.
