Full Stack Web Developer (Toronto/GTA)

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated freelance full-stack web developer to work directly alongside the founder of an emerging online platform currently in active development. This is an opportunity to play a key role in bringing a product to market while working closely with the founder on technical strategy, feature development, and platform growth. We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership of their work, and contributing ideas beyond simply writing code. Location Must be located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Available for occasional in-person meetings and collaboration sessions Remote work with flexible scheduling Responsibilities Work directly with the founder to complete and enhance an existing web platform Build new features and functionality Debug, maintain, and improve existing code Optimize platform performance, responsiveness, and user experience Integrate third-party APIs and services Assist with technical planning, architecture, and scalability decisions Help prepare the platform for launch and future growth Technical Requirements Strong experience with React Experience with Next.js Experience with Node.js Proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript Experience working with REST APIs Database experience (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar) Experience using Git/GitHub Strong understanding of responsive web design and mobile optimization Nice to Have Experience with marketplace or platform-based applications Familiarity with WordPress integrations and custom development Experience with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, Vercel, or DigitalOcean Experience with Stripe or other payment processing integrations UI/UX design experience SEO and web performance optimization experience Startup experience and comfort working in a fast-paced environment Ideal Candidate Strong communicator who can work closely with a founder Self-starter who can identify solutions and take initiative Comfortable working with an existing codebase Able to balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability Interested in building a long-term working relationship To Apply Please include: A brief introduction about yourself Portfolio and/or GitHub profile Relevant project examples Technologies you specialize in Your hourly rate Availability (hours per week) We’re looking for someone who can become a trusted development partner and help guide a growing platform through its final development stages, launch, and continued expansion.
