We are looking to develop a web-based solar design platform using Python (FastAPI) for the backend and React.js for the frontend.
The system should allow users to enter an address or select a location on Google Maps, automatically generate a 3D roof/building model, and enable roof boundary detection and editing. Based on the available roof space, the platform should automatically place and optimize solar panels while allowing users to mark obstacles such as water tanks, AC units, and skylights.
The solution should include sun-path and shading simulation, calculating estimated daily, monthly, and annual energy generation based on roof orientation, tilt, shading, and local solar irradiance data. Users should be able to view the complete solar layout in an interactive 3D environment along with production estimates and performance metrics.
