Contract Full-Stack Developer – AWS Server Migration

About the Role We're looking for an experienced contract Full-Stack Developer to support and execute a server migration of our existing web application from AWS to a new hosting environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full stack and has hands-on experience with production migrations. Tech Stack • Frontend: React • Backend: Django (Python) • Database: PostgreSQL What You'll Do • Audit the current AWS infrastructure and document the existing architecture • Plan and execute the migration of the React frontend, Django backend, and PostgreSQL database to the new server environment • Update environment configurations, secrets, and deployment pipelines as needed • Ensure zero or minimal downtime during the cutover • Perform post-migration testing to verify functionality, performance, and data integrity • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during or after the migration What We're Looking For • Proven experience with React and Django in production environments • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database management and migration • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.) • Experience migrating or deploying applications to non-AWS environments (VPS, bare metal, GCP, Azure, etc.) • Strong knowledge of environment setup: Nginx, Gunicorn, Docker, or similar • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly on progress and blockers Nice to Have • Experience with CI/CD pipeline setup • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
