I’m looking for a highly technical AI agent / DevOps engineer to help me set up Hermes Agent in the most powerful way possible.
I do not want a basic chatbot setup. I want Hermes configured as an operator/agentic work system that can help build, test, document, and improve my business infrastructure while I’m away.
The business is currently in build mode. There are no real customers yet, so the focus is on safely building out systems, automations, workflows, code, testing, and documentation.
The setup should support:
Hermes running locally and/or deployed on Railway
Neon Postgres database integration
GitHub repo integration
Persistent project memory/context
soul.md, project instructions, business goals, and operating rules
Background tasks / async work
Sub-agent style workflows
LLM ops: logging, evaluation, traces, cost tracking, prompt/version management
Safe permissions and guardrails
Automated verification/testing before changes are accepted
Clear handoff docs so I can work side-by-side with Hermes and Claude Code
The end goal is to create a system where Hermes can act like an AI project operator for my business: researching, planning, building, testing, documenting, and improving systems continuously.
Current Tech Stack / Tools
I am using or planning to use:
Hermes Agent
Claude Code
Railway
Neon Postgres
GitHub
n8n
GoHighLevel
ManyChat
Meta/Instagram automation
HeyGen / ElevenLabs content workflows
Possible future tools: Notion, Slack, Google Drive, Obsidian, ClickUp, Langfuse, OpenTelemetry, PostHog
What I Need You To Build
Phase 1 — Hermes Foundation
Set up Hermes correctly with:
Local install
Railway deployment plan or working Railway deployment
Environment variables
Secure secrets handling
GitHub integration
Neon Postgres connection
Project folder structure
soul.md
project.md
rules.md
permissions.md
agent-operating-manual.md
Hermes should understand my business, goals, stack, constraints, and what it is allowed/not allowed to do.
Phase 2 — Agent Operating System
Create a workflow where Hermes can:
Read project context
Create implementation plans
Break work into tasks
Work in background sessions
Create branches/PRs
Run tests
Verify work before marking complete
Write handoff summaries
Log what it did
Recommend next actions
I want Hermes to function like a technical operator that can keep moving the project forward.
Phase 3 — LLM Ops / Monitoring
Implement an LLM ops layer so I can track and improve the system.
This may include:
Langfuse or similar tracing
Prompt/version tracking
Cost tracking
Model usage logs
Agent task logs
Error logs
Evaluation criteria
Test results
Task history
“What changed while I was away” reports
I want to be able to see what Hermes did, why it did it, what it changed, and whether it passed verification.
Phase 4 — Business System Integration
Connect or prepare Hermes to work with my business systems:
GitHub repos
Railway services
Neon database
n8n workflows
GHL automations
Instagram Sales Agent DM flows
Content engine workflows
Documentation files
I do not need Hermes spending money, publishing live ads, modifying payment systems, or messaging real customers without approval.
But I do want Hermes to be able to build, test, verify, and improve workflows in development.
Guardrails
Hermes should be allowed to:
Edit code
Create branches
Open pull requests
Write docs
Create test workflows
Run tests
Inspect logs
Suggest infrastructure changes
Improve prompts
Build automation templates
Hermes should not be allowed to:
Spend money
Modify payment processors
Publish ads
Message real customers
Delete production data
Change live payment flows
Push directly to main without approval
Access sensitive secrets in plain text
Ideal Candidate
You should have experience with:
AI agents
Claude Code / coding agents
Hermes Agent or similar agent frameworks
Railway
Neon Postgres
GitHub Actions
Docker
TypeScript / Python
n8n
LLM ops tools like Langfuse, Helicone, OpenTelemetry, PostHog, or similar
Prompt engineering
Agent memory/context systems
DevOps and automation
Building safe autonomous workflows
