I am a non-technical founder building a two-sided B2B marketplace called "ShelfSpace" We connect online-only e-commerce brands (who want physical retail exposure) with local brick-and-mortar shops (cafes, salons, boutiques) that have extra shelf or window space to rent out for short-term "micro pop-ups."
I have the business strategy, the go-to-market plan, and the initial waitlist of local shops ready to go. Now, I need the technical brains to bring the platform to life.
The "Impactful" Twist:
I am not looking for a "code monkey" to just blindly follow instructions. I am looking for a technical thought-partner. Because I am non-technical, I want your creative input on the best way to build this MVP. Should we use a powerful No-Code tool like Bubble to launch fast? Or do we need a custom stack (React/Node/Python)? I want your expert recommendation.
How We Will Work Together (Phase 0):
I don't want to rush into a massive, messy build. We will start with a paid "Phase 0" milestone.
During Phase 0, you will review my requirements, recommend the best tech stack, and map out the database architecture and timeline. If we work well together during this phase, you will be awarded the contract for the full MVP build.
Core Features of the Marketplace:
• Dual User Profiles: Dashboards for "Brands" (renters) and "Hosts" (shops).
• Interactive Map & Search: Brands need to search for available shelf space by city, foot traffic, and store vibe.
• Booking & Escrow: A booking flow with secure payment integration (e.g., Stripe Connect) to hold funds in escrow until the shelf space is set up.
• In-App Messaging: So brands and hosts can coordinate shipping and setup.
• The "Creative" Feature: A built-in QR code generator. When a brand rents a shelf, the platform generates a unique QR code for the shop to print and place next to the product, allowing in-store customers to buy the product directly through our platform.
Who You Are:
• You have built marketplaces before (please link to them!).
• You are an excellent communicator who can explain technical concepts to a non-technical founder without using confusing jargon.
• You care about UI/UX and user experience, not just backend code.
• You are honest. If one of my feature ideas (like the QR code system) is too expensive or complex for an MVP, you will tell me and suggest a leaner alternative.
How to Apply:
To prove you read this and aren't using an AI auto-bidder, please start your proposal with the phrase: "Let's build the blueprint."
In your proposal, please include:
• A brief explanation of how you usually explain technical choices to non-technical clients.
• Links to 1 or 2 marketplaces or complex web apps you have built.
• Your rough estimate for how long a "Phase 0" architecture plan would take you.
I look forward to building something great together!
