Seeking Senior Laravel & PHP Engineer | Backend Performance, Optimization & Reliability Specialist

We are looking for a senior backend engineer who specializes in Laravel/PHP application reliability and optimization. We don't just need someone to write basic CRUD code; we need a specialist who understands deep backend architecture, database optimization, and how to make an application rock-solid under load. Whether you are helping us refactor technical debt in an existing codebase or helping us architect a highly scalable foundation for new features, your focus will be on speed, security, and clean code patterns. Key Responsibilities: Performance Tuning: Optimize slow database queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL), implement strategic caching (Redis/Memcached), and reduce API response latencies. Code Refactoring: Step into our existing Laravel setup, identify bottlenecks, and refactor messy code into clean, maintainable patterns. Reliability & Testing: Write automated tests (PHPUnit) and set up robust queue management/background jobs to handle heavy data processing seamlessly. Security & Integration: Ensure secure API endpoints (using Sanctum/Passport), handle third-party integrations, and protect against common security vulnerabilities. What We Are Looking For: 5+ years of production experience working deeply with PHP and Laravel. Strong mastery of relational databases, indexing, and complex Eloquent/SQL optimization. Deep understanding of queue workers, job processing, and caching layers. A developer who writes clean, self-documenting code and values thorough testing. Excellent, proactive communication skills (able to jump on sync calls and explain technical decisions clearly)
