About Us
Automation Consulting Pty Ltd is a small, fast-growing Australian startup specializing in AI and automation consulting, helping businesses streamline operations with smart, scalable solutions.
About the Role
- We're looking for a hybrid business-and-tech generalist to serve as an internal "Solution Architect" — someone who deeply understands business processes across Sales, Marketing, and HR, and can personally design and build lightweight automation to solve real operational problems.
- This role draws on the same skillset as pre-sales or solutions architecture — understanding business needs, designing practical solutions, and bridging technical and non-technical teams. The difference here is that your "clients" are internal: Sales, Marketing, and HR.
- Your first responsibility is understanding how our teams work. Before building automation, you'll spend time learning existing business processes, identifying bottlenecks, and proposing practical improvements that help our teams work more efficiently.
- This is not a traditional software engineering role — you don't need a CS degree or deep dev background — but decent technical knowledge with vibe coding will suffice: comfortable using AI-assisted coding tools to prototype and ship working solutions quickly.
What You'll Do
• Work closely with our Marketing team to identify and automate manual workflows (e.g. content distribution, social media processes).
• Partner with the Sales team to help build and streamline pipeline-related processes.
• Collaborate with HR/Operations to map out internal processes and turn them into automated workflows.
• Build proof-of-concepts (POCs) and internal tools across departments, iterating quickly based on real business needs.
• Act as a technical thought partner for non-technical teams — translating business problems into simple, working automation solutions.
• Continuously evaluate new AI and automation tools that can improve internal productivity and businessm operations.
What We're Looking For
• Strong business acumen — understands how Sales, Marketing, and HR functions actually operate day-to-day.
• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to build functional prototypes (no formal software engineering background required).
• Experience with browser/workflow automation tools such as Playwright is a strong plus, or a willingness to learn quickly.
• Prior exposure to CRM/marketing tools (HubSpot, Zapier, Make, n8n, etc.) is a bonus.
• 3–6 years of experience in a business/ops/growth-adjacent role, with a track record of building things independently.
• Self-starter mentality — comfortable going from vague business ask → working POC without heavy hand-holding.
• Naturally curious about improving how people work and enjoys experimenting with new AI tools, APIs, and automation platforms.
• Fluent in English skills
Nice to Have
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic startup or agency environment.
• Basic scripting/no-code/low-code experience (Python, JS, Zapier/Make, Airtable, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar browser automation tools for testing or workflow automation.
• Experience designing business processes, internal tools, or operational workflows—not just implementing technical solutions.
• Background in QA Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Solutions Architecture — especially where the role sat between technical and business/process work.
