Senior Backend-led Full Stack Engineer

We are an early-stage UK fintech building a mobile-first cash optimisation platform. A backend has been built and the core flows are already connected to a low-fidelity mobile UI. A high-fidelity UI is now being built on a new design library. We are looking for an experienced engineer, on a part-time contract, to take ownership of the existing back-end codebase and connect the high-fidelity screens to the backend as they are delivered. This suits someone who enjoys taking ownership of existing work, moving quickly, making sound judgements about what to keep and what to improve. Working in step with a UI engineer and the founder to build and iterate quickly. There is a longer-term opportunity to take the platform through to a production-ready MVP and FCA authorisation, which could become a permanent role. Scope of work The backend APIs for the core flows are in place and already connected to a low-fidelity UI. The job is to review what exists, then connect each high-fidelity flow to the backend as the UI engineer delivers it, working to a shared API contract. FULL DESCRIPTION ATTACHED
