We are preparing a multi-organisation inventory, purchasing, POS and reporting system for live use. We need an experienced QA-minded full-stack developer or small team to continue structured testing, document bugs clearly, fix critical issues, and help us reach go-live readiness.
This is not a greenfield project. The system already exists and is close to live, but we need an independent, disciplined person/team to take over testing and final stabilisation.
Project background
We run multiple businesses and are preparing our ROAR Inventory system for live use, starting with Coast Outdoors.
The platform includes:
* multi-organisation inventory management
* products, suppliers, customers
* purchase orders and supplier returns
* stock adjustments, stock counts and warehouse transfers
* reporting and business intelligence
* POS/register/till management
* Xero/accounting integration
* Lightspeed Retail X import/integration
We have had a tester begin structured QA across Inventory, Purchase and Supplier modules. Their method included workflow testing, API response testing, import/export testing, validation testing, data persistence checks, multi-tenant checks, and retesting of developer fixes.
We now need someone to continue that work, fix critical problems, and help us make a clear go/no-go decision for live use.
The wider ROAR issue list covers purchases, supplier returns, stock adjustments, warehouse transfers, stock counts, product workflows, sales, settings, Xero-related fields, roles/permissions, and organisation separation.
The Lightspeed requirement is especially important: we do not want unsafe direct production writes. The correct approach is staged import: raw staging, active product selection, prepared staging, validation, reconciliation/dry-run, then final approved import.
⸻
What has already been started
Our previous tester began testing areas such as:
* Stock Adjustment workflow
* Warehouse Transfer workflow
* Stock Count workflow
* Product Add/Edit workflow
* Product image upload/preview
* Import Stock Revaluation
* Purchase Order creation and lifecycle
* Purchase Order import/export
* Receipt Purchase
* Supplier Returns
* Supplier Contacts
* Supplier Purchases
* Supplier Costings
* Supplier Import/Export
* Product search issues
* API 500 errors
* form validation issues
* dropdown and field-population issues
* incorrect currency/default values
* print/email action testing
* multi-organisation data isolation
* permission and access checks
We want the new person/team to continue this same structured approach.
⸻
Immediate goal
Help us get to a controlled Coast Outdoors go-live by:
1. continuing structured QA testing,
2. identifying P0 go-live blockers,
3. fixing confirmed issues,
4. retesting fixes,
5. confirming which modules are ready, deferred, or unsafe,
6. supporting Lightspeed/POS readiness,
7. producing clear daily progress reports.
⸻
Core modules to test and stabilise
P0 / go-live critical
* Organisation setup and organisation isolation
* Products and compulsory fields
* Suppliers and supplier contacts
* Customers
* Purchase Orders
* Supplier Returns
* Stock Adjustments
* Warehouse Transfers
* Stock Counts
* Inventory transaction history
* Stock-on-hand reports
* Stock value reports
* POS register and till flow
* Xero/accounting-related fields and reports
* Lightspeed staged import / reconciliation
* Roles and permissions
Deferred unless already stable
* WMS
* Hire system
* Support tickets
* advanced dashboards
* non-essential AI/automation modules
If these deferred modules exist in Core, they should be hidden, feature-flagged, or confirmed safe.
⸻
Key responsibilities
You will be expected to:
* review existing ROAR Core system behaviour
* continue functional QA testing from the current tester’s method
* test end-to-end business workflows, not only individual buttons
* identify bugs with screenshots, steps and expected/actual behaviour
* classify issues as P0, P1, P2 or deferred
* fix confirmed frontend/backend bugs
* retest after fixes
* verify multi-organisation data separation
* verify import/export workflows
* verify product, supplier, purchase and inventory calculations
* verify POS and till workflow
* review Lightspeed import behaviour against staged-import requirements
* avoid unsafe live database or production changes
* provide daily written updates with commit links and test evidence
⸻
