Full-Stack Engineer — AWS, Node/TS, React (SaaS)

The Project We're a creative tech studio working with e-commerce brands on product development for social media. We're looking for an experienced engineer to help us complete MVP. The platform is roughly 60% built: backend, front-end, data pipeline, and infrastructure are all in place. We're looking for an experienced engineer to pick it up and carry it to launch, at around 15 hours a week on an ongoing basis. Specifics of the product and architecture can be shared under NDA with shortlisted candidates. Context Worth Knowing -The engineer who built it has moved on, so this is a handoff without him. Documentation is in place. -Some components will need rework. Others are fine. Part of the early work is telling us which is which. -You'd be the engineer on the product, working directly with our CPO and UX/UI lead. Our technical interviewer, a senior engineer, has reviewed the codebase and scoped the remaining work at roughly 15 hours a week. You'll get to validate that yourself in the first milestone. Scope of Work -Core platform architecture on AWS, built for high-volume data ingestion -Third-party API integrations -Data processing pipelines -Front-end implementation from existing designs (React/TypeScript) -Testing and QA processes ahead of customer-facing releases -System documentation as you build -Estimated 15 hours a week to start. Required Skills -4+ years full-stack or backend engineering -Java -Node.js / TypeScript and React in production -AWS: core to our build -Data-intensive or API-driven products Strong Pluses: -Social platform APIs -E-commerce platform APIs -AI/ML integrations -Data privacy compliance (GDPR, CCPA) -Java How We Work Async-first with regular sync check-ins. Communication is key. We're not micro-managers, but we do work on sprints. Compensation Hourly through Upwork. This is a longer-term engagement, not a short sprint.
