About the app
ichi nichi ippo is an iOS app for planning Japan trips. Solo-founder project, close to launch. The MVP is feature-complete and running on TestFlight; the work now is professional review, hardening, and launch prep.
How this was built (please read)
I'm a solo founder and vibe coded the app. It's real and working — feature-complete on TestFlight — but I'm not a professional iOS developer, and I know my limits.
I'm looking for an experienced Expo / React Native developer to review the app with professional eyes, strengthen anything fragile, and get it through App Store review smoothly so I can focus on content and launch marketing.
If your instinct on seeing a vibe coded app is "burn it down and rebuild," this isn't the gig for you.
Tech stack
React Native + Expo (SDK 54), TypeScript throughout, Expo Router
Sanity Studio v3 (headless CMS)
Supabase (Postgres + Auth + Edge Functions)
RevenueCat + StoreKit subscriptions
@rnmapbox/maps, Google Places API v1
TanStack Query with offline persistence
EAS Build + EAS Update
iOS-only for launch
What's already built
Full trip planner (route + logistics + day-by-day + notes tabs, working end-to-end)
Content browsing (destinations, neighbourhoods, places, guides, itineraries)
Onboarding flow (welcome → dates → interests quiz → paywall → check-email)
Auth: email magic-link + Sign in with Apple, with anonymous-session upgrade preserving in-progress trip data
Paywall with three-tier RevenueCat subscription (Annual / Quarterly / Monthly), Apple compliance (Restore Purchases, Terms/Privacy links, offer code redemption)
Legal pages (Privacy, Terms, Contact) synced with the marketing site
Sanity Studio with custom in-Studio preview panes for editorial content
Maps via Mapbox with offline-first caching
Font system + design tokens locked in
Shipped to TestFlight multiple times; App Store submission is the next milestone
How we'd start
I'm not 100% sure yet what the app needs before launch — part of what I'm hiring for is that judgement. So rather than handing you a locked spec:
A short call so I can understand how you'd help and you can ask questions
A paid review — you look at the codebase and App Store Connect setup and come back with: anything likely to cause an App Review rejection, anything fragile that could break under real users, and your view on what genuinely needs doing before launch vs. what can wait.
We agree the ongoing scope together from there.
Rough shape of ongoing work: App Store submission prep, push notifications, analytics, and polish for launch in early August and a little beyond. Not full-time, but could grow if the app does well.
What I'm looking for
Shipped a couple of Expo + React Native apps to the App Store (please link them)
Comfortable with this stack — Supabase, RevenueCat/StoreKit, and Sanity v3 experience are all big pluses
Comfortable working in a codebase with some rough edges
Good written communication and clear updates.
Timing
I'm aiming to launch in early August, so good availability from now and over the next few weeks is super important!
Looking forward to getting started
