Forward Deployment Engineer – AI Solutions

New York City | Remote | Full-time We are looking for a Forward Deployment Engineer (FDE) to join an AI Solutions team and bring ambitious ideas to life by rapidly transforming concepts into working AI-driven prototypes and production-grade systems. You will work with taking solutions from initial concepts and prototypes through to enterprise-grade deployments. What You'll Do Prototype for Impact: Rapidly build working demos and prototypes using TypeScript and Python to validate ideas and proposals and demonstrate value quickly. Build Enterprise-Grade Platforms: Take prototypes from demos to production by designing scalable, secure, observable systems capable of meeting Fortune 500 client requirements. Own Solutions End-to-End: Break down customer problems into clear goals, design data flows and AI systems, and deliver functional, deployed solutions. This includes: Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) LLM orchestration Agentic workflows LLM evaluations Fine-tuning Must-Have Qualifications Exceptional Client-Facing Communication This is the single most important attribute for the role. ❗ You should be able to: Run client meetings. Defuse tension. Set expectations clearly. Explain technical trade-offs to non-technical executives without losing the technical audience in the room. Enterprise-Grade Platform Experience Experience must go beyond building demos. Strong TypeScript and Python Proficiency Strong hands-on experience with both TypeScript and Python. Comfortable owning full-stack development across both languages. Ability to move seamlessly between a Next.js/Node frontend and a Python AI/data backend. Deep Hands-On AI Systems Experience Demonstrated experience building and shipping systems using: Large Language Models (LLMs) Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Embeddings LLM evaluations Modern AI orchestration frameworks You should understand the difference between creating a prompt that works once and engineering a reliable AI system that works at scale. AI Productivity Tools Strong proficiency with AI coding agents and productivity tools. You should have integrated these tools into your workflow in ways that meaningfully improve your productivity and output. Relevant tools include: Claude Code Cursor GitHub Copilot Agentic development environments 0→1 Product Mindset Experience building products from scratch. Comfortable working with ambiguity. Able to scope MVPs effectively. Able to iterate rapidly based on real client feedback. End-to-End Ownership
