Senior Full-Stack Developer (AWS) Needed to Take Over Existing Ecommerce Website

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Ecommerce Developer to become our long-term technical partner. Our website is a custom-built ecommerce platform hosted on AWS. Our current developer is moving on but has agreed to provide a full handover, and we’re looking for someone to take over ongoing development and technical support. This is not a redesign project. We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding an existing codebase, improving it, and helping us continue to develop the platform over the coming years. Our website is custom built and already includes: * Ecommerce functionality * Payment gateway integration * Royal Mail Click & Drop integration * A bespoke PMR (Patient Medication Record) system * AWS hosting We’re looking for a developer who can become our long-term technical partner, maintaining and improving the platform as our business grows. ⸻ Your First Project Working alongside our existing developer during the handover, you will: * Learn and understand the existing codebase. * Familiarise yourself with our AWS infrastructure (AWS ownership remains with us). * Understand the deployment process. * Understand the database architecture. * Review the bespoke PMR system. * Review security and backup processes. * Ensure the platform is well documented. * Become our primary technical developer moving forward. ⸻ Ongoing Responsibilities * Ongoing website maintenance and development. * Bug fixes and technical improvements. * Performance optimisation. * Product catalogue expansion. * Database optimisation. * API integrations. * Technical planning and advice. * Security, maintenance and monitoring. * Helping us scale the platform as the business grows. ⸻ Planned Future Projects Projects are likely to include: * QuickBooks integration. * Expansion of our product catalogue. * Improvements to website search and navigation. * Practitioner portal enhancements. * Automation of internal workflows. * Website performance improvements. * SEO improvements. * New ecommerce functionality. * AI-assisted business automation where appropriate.
