Senior Fullstack Developer (Python + React)

About Us We are a digital health startup building Alakin, a platform for medical workflow automation and patient care coordination, now expanding into insurtech as well. We are growing our distributed engineering team and looking for senior freelance talent who can own their domain with autonomy and rigor. Role Overview We are hiring a Senior Fullstack Developer comfortable owning features end-to-end — from a PostgreSQL schema and FastAPI endpoint to the React interface that ships it. You'll work across the stack to deliver complete healthcare workflow features with real autonomy. What You'll Do Design and build features end-to-end: data model, API, and React UI Work with FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL on the backend Build and maintain React-based frontend components and views Ensure code quality, testability, and performance across the stack Contribute to CI/CD and deployment on AWS Collaborate directly with product and clinical experts to shape features Requirements 5+ years of full-stack development experience, with real depth on both sides Solid knowledge of Python (FastAPI) and PostgreSQL on the backend Strong React expertise on the frontend, including modern TypeScript tooling Experience with REST/GraphQL API design and integration Comfortable working in a distributed, async-friendly team Fluent in English (technical and spoken) Bonus Background in health tech or compliance-aware systems Experience with AWS deployment, CI/CD, and infrastructure basics Knowledge of event-driven architectures or task queues Contributions to open-source projects Work Setup This is a freelance / remote engagement. We work async-friendly but expect meaningful overlap with the core team for collaboration, reviews, and planning.
