We’re looking for a reliable full-time web developer to join our team and help us build and maintain WooCommerce websites based on client requirements. This is a long-term role with consistent weekly hours.
What you’ll be doing (primary responsibilities)
• Build WordPress + WooCommerce sites based on client requested criteria (layout, plugins, checkout, products, shipping, taxes, etc.)
• Install/configure/update WooCommerce themes and theme child customizations
• Install/configure/update plugins, and keep sites stable during updates
• Write custom PHP snippets (functions.php / hooks / filters) and create custom WordPress plugins when needed
• Troubleshoot issues (critical errors, 500 errors, white screens, plugin conflicts, checkout/payment issues, performance problems)
• This role will eventually take on tickets from online team and other internal partners and will vary from minor website updates to identifying and fixing major server issues. Ability to identify issues and communicate fixes to stakeholders as needed.
• Perform GTmetrix / PageSpeed optimization (core web vitals improvements, caching, image optimization, script optimization, DB cleanup)
• Set up and monitor ecommerce backups and basic site monitoring/uptime
Design + graphics (important)
• Good communication and problem solving is key. You need to be able to communicate process and steps being taken on tasks and be able to find resolutions to emerging issues
You should be comfortable producing front-end assets such as:
• Simple logos
• Sale banners / hero images
• Basic UI/graphics for promo sections, headers, sliders, etc.
Required skills
• Strong experience with WordPress + WooCommerce
• PHP (hooks/filters, debugging), basic MySQL familiarity
• Confident with troubleshooting and isolating plugin/theme conflicts
• Performance optimization experience (caching, CDN basics, image compression, asset optimization)
• Comfortable using a page builder when needed (UX Builder) and working within a theme’s framework
• Clean communication and ability to follow checklists/SOPs
• Experience with domain registrars (purchasing domains, setting up hosting, wordpress installations)
• Experience with server management basics (cPanel/SSH, Cloudflare, backups, staging workflows)
• Experience working with Power BI is a big plus
Nice to have (not required, but a plus)
• Familiarity with WooCommerce extensions (subscriptions, bundles/mix-and-match, shipping plugins, etc.)
• Basic design tool comfort (Photoshop / Canva / Illustrator)
• Mailerlite experience
Availability & pay
Full-time: 40 hours/week
$10 USD/hour
Must be able to start your shift between 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM PST and work an 8 hour shift
You must be available during duration of shift for collaboration on ongoing site projects
Must be a problem solver and find solutions to any obstacles
